Bringing Opportunity to Every Community

Haiti Education Network creates opportunities for children to discover their musical potential, regardless of where they live or their family’s ability to pay.

Investing in Music Education

Haiti has a rich musical and cultural heritage, yet access to structured music education remains limited for many children, particularly those living outside major urban areas or in economically underserved communities.

Music Education for Every Child

HEN believes that every child who wants to learn music should have the opportunity to do so,
regardless of where that child lives or the family's ability to pay.

Our Partnership with CEMUCHCA

For the past five years, Haiti Education Network has partnered with CEMUCHCA, a nonprofit music-based organization in Haiti, to expand access to music education across the country.

The partnership is built around a community-based model.

Instead of expecting children and families to travel long distances to find music education, the goal is to bring music education directly into neighborhoods and communities

Today, CEMUCHCA has approximately 90 satellite sites throughout Haiti and an additional 7 sites in the Dominican Republic, allowing children to receive music instruction close to where they live..

How HEN Supports This Growing Network

HEN supports CEMUCHCA’S expanding network of community-based music programs by providing

Technical assistance

Capacity-building support

Musical instruments

Support for the development of community-based programs

Assistance with expanding access
to music education

Partnership development and resource mobilization

This model helps empower individual communities to take ownership of music education for their children.

Rather than creating one large centralized program, HEN and CEMUCHCA are building a network that can reach children across the country.

Our Philosophy

“Children should not have to leave their communities to discover their talents.
Opportunity should be brought closer to where they live.”
